This Wednesday we will kick off another year of Water’s Edge gatherings. These are monthly opportunities for people of all ages to come and enjoy a creative night of interaction with one another, good coffee, and a great night of singing music
loud enough that you can feel it!

If you are looking for a relaxed and informal chance to
connect on a deeper level with other folks, we invite you to join us this Wednesday night. Our hope is that each month we would encourage one another and become more passionate about worshipping our great God together!

Well, we might not all be able to go down to South Philly to see the World Champion Phillies play every night, but did you know that Chelten has two softball teams in a church softball league? Yes, Chelten fields two teams in the Suburban Fundamental Church Softball League. Each team plays about 15 games during the season, plus postseason action if they make it (which they plan on doing). There are games each week from now until the beginning of July. Come out and support our teams. For team schedules and field locations, click on each team name below:

Road trip...Indy style!

In an effort to support our friends and Chelten Missionaries, the Eads, we are looking to send a team to Muncie, Indiana for a work trip.

Details: The church at Ball State is receiving a lease for a café/performance area in a building in downtown Muncie. Part of them being able to afford the cafe style concert area is because they are going to move their offices there too. This will eliminate the rent they currently pay for offices. So, the obstacle is this: there are no offices at the new place just a big extra room with flimsy walls.

How do you come in? We are looking for a few good men and women to assist with the following projects:

Building walls for the offices
Assisting in adding a loft for a small library
Building some desks for our staff
Painting
Some electrical assistance would be great.
Re-tiling a men's and women's bathroom and the kitchen area.
The kitchen is in need of a modest kitchen remodel/ rearrange.

Timing: A group will be heading out on June 4 and returning on the 7th.

We will leave early on the 4th for Muncie.
On Friday and Saturday we will work hard.
Sunday we will worship at their church and then head home.

Logistics:

Housing will be provided by church members on camping pads, couches and beds.
Chelten is allowing us to use the vans and will also be paying for the gas.
The cost for the trip will be around $30 -$50, including food, housing etc.
We understand this is last minute but we would love to have you. We would like to assemble a team by May 22nd.

If you aren’t able to help at this time but have a skill that could help the Eads I am sure they would be interested in hosting you at another time.

Hey Friends,

Well spring is in the air just about, and typically with that comes spring cleaning. So as we were thinking about it - we thought it would be cool for us to do a service project for Chelten.

Here are the details:

What:

A variety of projects.

some painting
vehicle washing (yes even the cool CCDC bus!),
some grounds keeping
window washing...

A splash of Fun

Lunch
Frisbee and/or Flag Football

When: Saturday May 2nd, 9am-12pm to clean up then optional afternoon fun
Where: Chelten

You get the idea - there's much that can be done! After we work for a few hours, we'll have pizza and then we can enjoy the outdoors for as long as we like. We are hoping to get a game going of either Ultimate Frisbee or football, or whatever else.

So mark it on your calendars, we would love to see you there. Even if you can only come for a short time, please do, it would be great to serve along side you!

Hey Friends!

Join us next Wednesday night (Jan 7) to celebrate our community together and corporately lift our hearts and voices to the Lord through upbeat worship and music.

As we ring in the new year, join us for a great night of worship, as some of our own musicians from Chelten will perform and lead us in worship together. As always, we will make sure coffee is hot and the cookies are fresh!

Well, I must say that there were some pretty ugly sweaters that made an appearance at 201 Julie Rd on Saturday night. Thanks to everyone for coming and participating. I had a great time and I'm sure you all did too. Congrats again to our winner Matt Welsh for having the ugliest sweater! A special thank you goes out to the Keisling's for opening up their home again allowing us to bring all the ugliness into their neighborhood - hopefully the neighbors couldn't see what was happening!

Thanks again for coming and I wish all of you a blessed Christmas season in which you enjoy friends, family, and most importantly, celebrate the Life that we have in the birth of Jesus.

Ugly Sweater Christmas Party!!

Hey Everyone!

Well I know that Thanksgiving is barely upon us but I wanted to get the news out to you that we are going to have a Young Adults Ugly Sweater Christmas Party at the Keislings' House on Saturday December 13th, starting at 6:00pm! We would love for you to join us. The more the merrier! (There will be a prize for the Ugliest Sweater… and in case you are curious – people really will come in ugly sweaters).

The festivities will include playing an exciting game of "Travel," which is very fun and exciting! For this game you will need a white elephant gift – wrapped. If you haven’t played this before – let me tell you – it is a blast.

Parties aren’t complete without some yummy goodness. We are asking you to bring a festive appetizer or dessert to share. We will provide the drinks.

So here is a brief recap:

1. What to Bring:

· Yourself,

· An ugly sweater,

· A festive appetizer or dessert to share

· A white elephant gift (for the Travel game)

2. Where to Go: Directions - 201 Julie Rd, Chalfont PA, 18914 - basically if you are coming from the Chelten area, simply take Limekiln Pike north until you get up into Chalfont. It will become Main St there - follow 152 as it zig zags over 202. You will then go up a hill, pass the Chalfont train station and turn right onto Park Ave. Stay on that for a little and turn left onto W Fairwood Dr - the Keislings house is on the corner of W Fairwood and Park (front faces Julie Rd). Car pool if you can!

So mark your calendars – we would love to be with you.

Fall Retreat September 20-21

We're looking forward to spending some time together away for an overnight trip in the midst of God's creation! We'll have quite a bit of free time to be able to spend utilizing many of the activities the camp has to offer from basketball to bouldering. Saturday evening and Sunday morning we're going to enjoy an awesome time of worship together with some time spent in the Word as well. Come prepared to relax, hang out with friends and worship the Lord. We're looking forward to talking about some of the exciting things that have been happening in the young adults ministry at Chelten and keeping you informed as we move forward. So come join us on our Young Adult Fall Retreat at the Pocono Plateau Retreat Center on September 20 – 21.

Details:

· The cost is $45 per person. (please contact us if you desire to come but the cost is an issue)

· We need an RSVP via e-mail cheltenyoungadults@gmail.com and are also requesting a $20 deposit by September 7.

· We will be leaving from the church at 12 noon to head to Pocono’s Plateau retreat center. We are not taking church vans, so please come prepared to drive your own car. We will carpool from the church and figure out who is riding with whom.

· The Plateau provides beds with mattresses. Please bring your own pillow and bedding/sleeping bag. The Lodge we will be staying in has three wings which consist of individual rooms for four people (two bunk beds per room). Each wing has its own bathroom and shower facility so bring your own towel and washcloth.

· We realize some you have young children and that it can be hard to find someone to watch them overnight. We are checking with several families from Chelten to see if they would be willing to partner with us and provide childcare for some of our young families. We are encouraging everyone to find your own childcare, but if you are having trouble, please e-mail us and we will do our best to help out! Our hope is to help everyone be able to attend!

Cowtown Rodeo!!

Join us Saturday August 23 as we strap on our boots and dust off our hats and head to the Cowtown Rodeo. Maybe just roll around in the dust a little and then come. OK, seriously, we'll probably stick out like sore thumbs in the stands, but we're planning on going and have a great time! The cost is $15 a person, but if we get 25 people to come, we get a group rate of $10 so RSVP as soon as you can!! Ok, so we really need to plan our events around the weather a little better. It was really warm again as we watched the production, but at least we were in the shade and it got cooler as the evening went on. This was the 3rd try, over a few years, that this group made to go to the theater, the previous 2 got rained out, so we're glad it worked out this time! (and by the way, these pictures were taken before the announcement that stating we weren't allowed to take pictures, oops...) A huge thanks to Lori and Melanie for bringing snacks and treats for us all to enjoy! Thanks to those who came with us, we had a blast seeing the play! We hope you did as well. We'll see you at the next bash!

An evening out

Join us as we enjoy a one of a kind event. We're going to see Oliver at the Open Air Theater in Washington Crossing, PA. You can visit their website for more info about the production. We hope to experience this with you! We're planning for Saturday July 19th, with a rain date of July 20th. The show starts at 7pm, so we will meet at the church at 6pm to caravan over there- maybe even in Chelten vans. You can come with us or meet us over there. We are hoping to get a group ticket rate which brings the cost down to $8. If we can't get the group rate because we don't have enough people (20 or more), the price will be $12. If you can, RSVP by July15th and let us know that you are planning to come so we can prepare! Of course if you don't RSVP, you are able to get tickets at the show. Summer Kick off!

Thanks to all of you who joined us on Sunday for the cook out! We had a blast hanging out and eating with you- thanks for enduring the heat. Hope no one got heat stroke- phew! And we missed those who were in Kenya and at Creation- we hope to catch you next time. Which, by the way, is coming up in about 2 weeks- July 19th, rain date July 20th. We're headed to Washington Crossing for Oliver and the Open Air Theater (stay tuned for more details).

A BBQ day!

Join us as we kick off the summer Sunday, June 29 after the 2nd service on the lawn behind the church. We want to meet people as we hang out playing games, grilling, and eating! We'll have few games including bags (yes- it's as easy to learn & play as it sounds), volleyball, a frisbee to throw at each other, and boccie ball if we're lucky! We'll provide the food- burgers & hotdogs, etc. You are welcome to bring a side dish or a couple dollars to chip in, but you are also welcome to just come and eat our food!
